Lake Whitney Ranch is a faith-based retreat center and camp located in Clifton, Texas. It is owned and operated by the Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The ranch spans nearly 1,000 acres of beautiful Texas countryside, featuring stunning cliffs and lake views.
Accommodations at Lake Whitney Ranch include lodges, houses, tent sites, and RV sites suitable for individuals, families, and groups. In the past three years, we have made significant developments, including the addition of new buildings. Notably, we have constructed a 60,000 sq ft open-air pavilion that can seat up to 5,000 people, making it ideal for camporees and club ministries. Additionally, we have four bathhouses that comprise a total of 48 bathrooms.
The ranch features 50 RV sites with full hookups, 30 RV sites with water and electricity, a dump station, and hundreds of tent sites. Our facilities also include a Town Hall building with an Adventist Book Center store, a camp store, a year-round operations office, a meeting room for 50 guests, and eight hotel-style rooms. Moreover, we have the Red Barn meeting room, which accommodates 200 guests, and an equestrian center equipped with six RV hookups, a 100’ by 200’ arena, a classroom, an office, and 10 stalls measuring 12’ by 12’.
Camp activities include pony rides, waterfront activities, boat tours, water skiing, jet skiing, tubing, fishing, canoeing, go-karts, archery, archery tag, a high-element rope course with a dual zip line, and a climbing wall with a dual zip line landing in the water. Sports offered include soccer, basketball, volleyball, and more.
Lake Whitney Ranch also features 10 private houses, three lodges, an event center with a commercial kitchen, and a dining/meeting room that accommodates 200 guests. Overall, our housing can accommodate up to 200 guests, or we can provide 50 private rooms for couples. We can almost double that amount if people stay in RVs.
We offer four weeks of summer camp from June through July, along with one week dedicated to young adults. Before these camps, we conduct certification and orientation weeks for the summer camp staff. Additionally, we host two more weeks of summer camp for other Christian churches or organizations.
Looking ahead to our development plans by 2030, we will introduce six duplex cabins to house 192 campers during summer camp. After the camp season, each duplex cabin will offer four private rooms for family stays, further increasing our housing capacity. Our plans also include an aquatic center and a multipurpose building designed for 500 people, featuring a commercial kitchen and multiple meeting rooms.
As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary in June of 2026, we are excited about the progress at Lake Whitney Ranch and praise God for His blessings. We also appreciate the many donors and volunteers who are helping to make the improvements possible.
